JR. DERBY CAMP
Roller derby is one of the fastest growing sports in the
nation. It’s exciting, action packed and an exceptional workout.
Previously played only by adults, the Speed Demons are proud to
offer the region’s first and only junior roller derby program.
Our CSD Junior Derby Camp is open to girls ages 12-17.
In our eight week program, participants will learn the skills and techniques necessary to play junior roller derby, a non-contact version of the adult game. Our program is designed to instill positive ideals and help young girls realize their own potential. In the final week, the campers will have the opportunity to play in their first game.
On Saturday, January 21st at 10:00 am, a informational meeting will be held at Kate’s Skating Rink (1151 Skating Rink Drive, Gastonia). Parents and interested participants are encouraged to attend.

Who are the Charlotte Speed Demons?
The Charlotte Speed Demons is a women’s flat track roller derby team. Established in 2010, we are owned and operated by Race City Roller Derby, Inc. Our team is part of the movement to develop roller derby into a professional level sport with an eye on inclusion in the Olympic Games. While all other teams in the region incorporate some level of showmanship (stage names, stage makeup or nontraditional sports attire) the Speed Demons have chosen a different direction. To promote the athleticism of the sport and create a family-friendly environment, our athletes compete using their legal names and wear traditional sports uniforms. Speed Demons home games are held at Breakaway Sports 3917 Trailer Drive in Charlotte. For further information on the team visit CharlotteSpeedDemons.com.
